Super Mario Zombies puts Mario-themed presentation around a Zombies survival game. Its map descriptions emphasize holding out against waves in places such as a cramped bunker, an abandoned asylum and a theater. The appeal is that combination of a familiar visual crossover with increasingly demanding survival, rather than a Mario platforming campaign.

The current selector lists Kino der Toten, Five, Der Riese, Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La and Moon. Their descriptions range from the Pentagon and a Soviet launch site to jungle ruins and a lunar base. These are the choices presented by this host's menu; they are not a guarantee that every feature of each original map has been reproduced.
The menu also offers optional starting presets. Easy Mode describes a later-round start with extra points, perks and upgraded weapons. Hell Mode describes a round-100 start with up to 300 zombies and no perks; it is available only for the first six maps in this selector. Check the selected map and preset before launching, since those choices describe very different starting conditions.
The entry screen requires you to confirm that you own Call of Duty: Black Ops before it enables ENTER. That confirmation is the step the host asks you to take; it is not a documented instruction to upload a disc image or game directory. Once you meet the requirement, ENTER leads to the map menu.
The entry screen also starts audio after your interaction with it. If a browser has been waiting for a click before allowing sound, entering through that screen provides the intended user action.
The host directs phone and touch-device visitors to a computer, with keyboard and mouse or a controller. Its device gate checks touch capability as well as mobile identification, so a touch-capable laptop can also encounter that message. This build should not be chosen on the assumption that Mario-themed visuals imply a phone-friendly touch game.
The host requires confirmation that you own Call of Duty: Black Ops before enabling ENTER. Proceed only if you own the original game.
