JSON dataset
Project identities, original-game relationships, known requirements, qualified capabilities and source references. Includes 21 published guide references.
Download JSON ↓CSV spreadsheet
One row per project, with canonical links and practical file, setup and control answers. Empty cells mean unknown. Use JSON for nested credits and provenance.
Download CSV ↓Browser launches, native downloads and source builds remain distinct. Read the specific project’s setup instructions before playing. A source-reviewed listing does not certify complete playability.
Choose the right format
The public dataset excludes thin, unavailable and video-only records. Existing integrations can keep using the complete v1 JSON catalog, including its evidence fields and unknown values. The catalog specification explains stable IDs, fields and relationships.
For reading, use the full public text or the smaller exports for browser games, downloads and builds, mashups and player guides. Each document links back to its canonical page.
Follow actual changes
- New games RSS — new listings with a recorded Playable publication date.
- Material updates RSS — substantive changes to setup, availability and player guides.
Feeds contain up to 50 dated entries. A build, link check or upstream release does not create an editorial update. Listings without a known publication date are omitted from the new-games feed. Date-only events use midnight UTC for feed formatting.
Sources, credit and reuse
Playable assembles project identities, factual classifications, original summaries and source references. No blanket open-data license has been granted for this compilation.
Game code, game files, images, footage, project documentation and third-party text retain their own rights and terms. Downloads contain no media or game files; source links do not grant permission to copy linked material.
Use the downloads to inspect and reference the catalog with canonical Playable and original project citations. Check applicable rights before redistributing protected text or compiling a derivative dataset. Bulk redistribution or commercial licensing of Playable-authored material requires a separate rights decision.
Preserve each listing’s canonical reference and original project link when citing facts. Source-review dates, recorded gameplay and upstream release dates have different meanings; none is a substitute for permission. See how the catalog is made, individual media credits and the site disclaimer.
