Visiting Playable

Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes technical information needed to deliver the site, including your IP address, browser information and the URL you request. A URL can include search text you entered. Vercel may also process request and diagnostic information under its privacy notice.

You do not need a Playable account to browse. The contribution tool saves a proposal file to your device; it does not submit the proposal to Playable.

Your library and browser storage

Favorites and recently opened browser games are stored in your browser, not uploaded as a Playable library. Recent entries include the game and the time you opened its link. You can remove favorites, use Clear history for recent entries, or clear Playable’s site data in your browser. This does not remove saves or other data held by game providers.

Optional Google Analytics

When Playable offers Analytics preferences, Google Analytics loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Declining does not prevent browsing or launching games. No Google Analytics tag is loaded before permission.

With permission, Google receives page visits, page titles, the referring website, cookie identifiers, basic session activity, browser and device information, and network information such as your IP address. We omit query strings and fragments from the page URL sent to Analytics and reduce referrers to the website origin. We do not deliberately send your Playable library, proposal fields, search text, user IDs or gameplay events to Analytics. These limits do not remove information from ordinary hosting requests or third-party services.

Google signals, enhanced measurement, user-provided data collection, granular location and device collection, and advertising personalization are off for Playable’s Analytics property. Your Analytics choice is saved in this browser for 180 days. Analytics cookies are configured to expire after 30 days without renewal on every visit; later visits with permission can create new cookies. Playable’s Google Analytics user and event retention is set to two months, without resetting on new activity. This setting does not cover Google’s standard aggregated reports.

You can change your choice through Analytics preferences in the footer when that control is available. Turning Analytics off clears its Playable cookies and reloads the page, stopping future collection from that page. It does not delete earlier reports or data held by other services. Playable also keeps Analytics off when it detects Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.

Games, posts and other websites

Some pages load X posts automatically as you approach them. We request X’s do-not-track option, but loading a post still contacts X. An embedded game connects to its provider when you launch it. Those providers can receive network information and may use their own cookies or storage. Links to external sites take you to separately operated services. Review X’s privacy policy and each game provider’s policy.

Your Playable Analytics choice does not block hosting requests, X posts or games you choose to launch.
