About this version

FelipePrado’s gow3_pc runs God of War III Remastered’s original x86-64 program through a dedicated compatibility runtime and translates PS4 graphics through a shadPS4-derived Vulkan core. The reviewed release contains a Windows ZIP and experimental Linux AppImage. It covers the PS4 remaster of God of War III, not the 2018 God of War game.

God of War III Remastered

Kratos at the end of the Greek trilogy

God of War III follows Kratos’s revenge against the Greek gods, moving from Hades toward Mount Olympus. The PS4 Remastered edition revisits that action game rather than the later Norse adventure with Atreus. Its appeal lies in the scale and momentum of that confrontation: this is the closing chapter of the original trilogy, with Kratos at the center of its combat spectacle.

The PS4 remaster through a dedicated runtime

gow3_pc runs the remaster’s x86-64 game program with replacement system services and a shadPS4-derived Vulkan graphics core. The project documents gameplay, cinematics, audio, manual saves and autosaves, with keyboard and controller input available together. The runtime is tailored to this game and needs your own supported PS4 dump.

Resolution and engine frame-rate patches are separate choices. A high frame-rate setting is a target rather than a measured result for every scene or machine. Ultrawide rendering is beta, and cinematics retain their 16:9 framing. Start with the ordinary display presets before combining several experimental changes.

Prepare the folder, then preserve user data

Extract the Windows package, choose the game folder containing eboot.bin, sce_module and sce_sys, save the launcher settings and start. The documented dumps include CUSA01623 and CUSA01715, versions 01.00 and 01.02. First launch prepares the image, and shader compilation can affect startup and later play.

The user folder beside the Windows executable contains saves, shader cache and logs; keep it when updating. Insert, or R3 plus L2, opens the runtime menu. The Linux AppImage has its own data locations and remains experimental, with Steam Deck/RADV rendering corruption listed for the published 2.2.0 package. A desktop Linux launch does not guarantee the same result on the handheld.

How do I get started?

Extract the Windows ZIP, open its launcher and select the game directory containing eboot.bin. Save settings and start from the launcher. Linux has a separate experimental AppImage. First launch prepares game data and shaders; follow the original release instructions for the selected platform.

Creator-reported · Project guide
Which devices and browsers work?

Windows 10 version 1903+ or Windows 11, x86-64 CPU with AVX, and Vulkan 1.3 graphics. Experimental x86-64 Linux requires glibc 2.39+ and an appropriate Vulkan driver. Mobile support is unconfirmed.

Creator-reported · Project guide
What are the controls?

Keyboard and SDL3 controllers are documented. WASD moves, arrow keys control the camera, and Space maps to Cross. Insert or R3 + L2 opens the runtime menu. Full remapping and controller prompts are described in the README.

Creator-reported · Project guide
What should I know before playing?

Shader preparation can affect startup and frame times; Linux remains experimental. The release lists GPU-specific rendering fixes. Frame-rate settings and social performance demonstrations are not a universal performance guarantee.
