Tekken 3 Recompiled contains two distinct executables. The hybrid recompilation is the playable reference built around the original US PlayStation game. The separate native PC port is an early vertical slice with its own match simulation and renderer. It is not a complete recreation of Tekken 3’s fighters, stages and modes.
The native slice currently uses procedural content while the original stage and character formats are being decoded. Its controls cover movement, jumping and attacks, making it useful for following the native engine’s development. Choose the hybrid reference if your interest is the project’s work with the original disc content, and do not mistake progress in one executable for completion of the other.

The hybrid reference enables True Widescreen by default. It exposes more stage geometry horizontally and adapts selected menus and loading screens to 16:9 while keeping portraits and text in proportion. Unrecognized menus and movies retain their 4:3 presentation.
A separate experimental fight-framing option widens regular fights before the camera pulls back. The documentation distinguishes that view change from movement and collision. You can disable the framing option to compare the original close view, or turn off widescreen altogether for 4:3. These are useful choices when deciding which presentation feels right for judging spacing.
The Easy Setup package asks for the USA PlayStation CUE/BIN image and prepares the game on your computer. Allow at least 4 GB of working space: the first setup also downloads pinned build tools. Later starts open a launcher with a disc library, mods, updates and separate keyboard and controller mappings. The optional Jun setup has additional arcade-data requirements; a PlayStation image alone does not supply those assets.
The hybrid reference adds separate music and sound-effect sliders. Changes preview immediately, but you must choose Save to keep them across launches; Back discards them. The settings live in tekken3-sound.ini in the active save directory, separate from the original menu’s BGM selection and stereo/mono setting.
Your own Tekken 3 USA PlayStation CUE/BIN image. The optional Jun feature additionally needs the supported non-merged tektagt.zip and tekken3.zip arcade sets.
