Canonical: https://playable.wtf/games/ssf2t-hd-remix-recompiled/

Project ID: project:ssf2t-hd-remix-recompiled

HD Remix on Windows with your own Xbox Live Arcade package. Linux is experimental.

## About this version

An unofficial native PC port of the Xbox Live Arcade edition, with a package installer, configurable display options, keyboard and Xbox controller input, and local saves. It requires one exact game revision and does not support online play.

Native download. Fighting.

## Classic fights, redrawn and rebalanced

HD Remix contains two interpretations of Super Street Fighter II Turbo: the Classic rules and a Remixed ruleset. The latter changes character balance and makes some special-move inputs easier, while keeping the timing, spacing and matchup decisions that define the fights. Learning when to advance, defend or commit to a move matters more than simply choosing the flashiest attack.

The redrawn characters and stages distinguish this edition from the original arcade release. Its visual and music options are separate from the choice of ruleset, so a different presentation does not necessarily mean different fighting rules.

## A desktop port with an exact starting point

HD Remix Recompiled targets the Xbox Live Arcade edition and adds a desktop launcher around the native game. That is a different route from launching an arcade emulator or playing another Street Fighter edition in a browser. The launcher handles package installation, display settings and controls; the game keeps its original 60-update-per-second simulation.

This port omits online play and Xbox Live. Its offline achievements stay on your PC, and achievements tied to ranked online matches cannot be earned. The original console release’s online features should not be read as features of this port.

## Check your package before installing

You need your own HD Remix Xbox Live Arcade package, with Title ID 584108A4 and game version 0.0.1.3. A PlayStation copy, another Street Fighter game or a different executable revision is not an interchangeable input. The launcher checks the package and its default.xex before accepting it; the project links the full revision identifiers if you need to diagnose a rejection.

Extract the Windows release into a writable folder and open ssf2t\_hd\_remix.exe. On the Play page, choose Install from package and select the original extensionless package file. Wait for Ready to play, then press PLAY. Installation writes about 370 MB beside the program, so keep that folder writable.

## Set up controls and keep your progress

Start with the launcher’s Controls page to see the keyboard layout or use the documented Xbox controller support. F11 switches between a window and borderless fullscreen. Letterbox preserves the picture’s proportions; Stretch fills the window. Window size, render resolution and internal render resolution are separate settings, so changing the window size alone is not the same as reducing rendering work.

The user\_data folder beside the program holds the creator-documented saves, settings and offline achievements. Keep it when moving the installation. Reinstall from package can repair the copied game files while retaining settings and saves. The Linux AppImage is experimental and had not been validated on real Linux or Steam Deck hardware when v0.1.0 was published.

## Do I need the original game files?

Your own Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix Xbox Live Arcade STFS LIVE package is required: Title ID 584108A4, game version 0.0.1.3. The installer checks the package and default.xex revision; other editions or versions are refused. No game files are included.

## Which devices and browsers work?

The Windows build requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a DirectX 12 graphics card and Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable (x64). The experimental Linux AppImage needs x86-64, glibc 2.31 or newer and Vulkan; the creator has not validated it on real Linux or Steam Deck hardware.

## What are the controls?

Xbox controllers are documented, with keyboard input mapped to Xbox 360 controls. The launcher’s Controls page shows the keyboard layout. F11 changes between windowed and borderless fullscreen; F2 toggles the frame counter.

## What is included in this version?

A native static recompilation of the Xbox Live Arcade game, with a desktop launcher and offline features. It runs the original simulation at 60 updates per second; online play is omitted.

## How do saves work?

The creator documents local saves, settings and offline achievements in user\_data beside the executable. Reinstall from package repairs game files while retaining settings and saves.

Creator-reported: [Project guide](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/saulob/ssf2t-hd-remix-recompiled/v0.1.0/README.md)

## What should I know before playing?

Only the exact supported Xbox Live Arcade revision is accepted. Online ranked-match achievements cannot be earned, and the Linux AppImage remains unvalidated on real Linux or Steam Deck hardware.
