## A mystery inside Dreamland

Faust is a first-person adventure set in an abandoned amusement park. You turn through panoramic scenes, inspect objects and solve puzzles, with filmed sequences carrying the story between discoveries. Its appeal is in looking closely and working out how the objects in your inventory fit the place around you.

Arxel Tribe released the original for Windows in 1999. The Omnium Games project brings its data into a new browser engine, keeping the original scenes, films and audio in the files supplied by the player.

## What this browser version includes

Omnium Games rewrote Faust’s engine in Rust and WebAssembly. The hosted version reads the original data directly, so there is no Windows installation to run inside the page. The creator reports support for the prologue, all seven episodes, the rabbit’s zone, English subtitles, films, sound and the game’s save and load menus.

The creator reports a complete playthrough in Chrome. For your first session, use a current desktop browser and the English game files the port was built against.

## Prepare your English game folder

Start with your own English Faust CD, a copy of that disc or an installed game folder. The selected folder must contain DATA together with ames.ini, aobj.ini and arxrin3.fon. Choose the containing folder rather than DATA alone, so the importer can find the companion files.

Open the browser host and choose or drop that folder on its import screen. The creator says about 2.4 GB is copied into local browser storage and never uploaded. Allow room for that copy as well as the original files. The same browser can reuse its imported data on later visits.

## Find the controls and keep a save backup

After import, move the pointer to the bottom of the game to reveal the port’s toolbar. Its Controls panel contains the current input guide. Start there before exploring the panoramic scenes; the browser toolbar and the original game menus serve different purposes.

Game saves stay in the browser alongside the imported data. The toolbar menu can export and import them as a zip. Keep an exported backup before clearing site storage or moving to another browser, and retain your original game folder so you can import it again.

## Use the supported files and a current browser

The creator lists current Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. The port was developed with the English CD, so another language or release may not have the same data layout. Use the documented English files for the clearest starting path.

The host supplies the engine, while the game’s pictures, films, music and text come from your copy. The project is independent of the original creators.
