# Doom and Quake, from demos to multiplayer

Canonical: https://playable.wtf/collections/doom-and-quake/

Start with a demo, load your own WAD, or choose an arena. The engine family alone does not tell you which game data or server you need.

## Doom: demos and your WADs

WAD Commander and the WASM port distinguish demo content from owned data. Doom 3 has a separate demo and setup path.

- [Doom / Doom II / Freedoom — WAD Commander v1](https://playable.wtf/games/wad-commander-v1/): Load owned Doom WADs, or start with Doom shareware and Freedoom in the live v1 browser client.
- [Doom — doom.wasm](https://playable.wtf/games/doom-wasm-browser/): A minimal Doom WebAssembly runtime with a playable browser example.
- [Doom 3 — D3Wasm](https://playable.wtf/games/doom-3-browser/): The Doom 3 demo running through a WebAssembly port of id Tech 4.

## Quake: choose the generation

Quake, Quake II and Quake III are different games and browser projects. Follow the selected host’s connection and setup instructions.

- [Quake III Arena — Q3JS](https://playable.wtf/games/quake-3-browser/): Arena multiplayer through LK’s Quake III browser client.
